i created sad & asian as my final project as part of my coursework whilst at nyu. within i explored common beauty practices and beliefs in the (east) asian american community through analytical interviews and self reflection. i chose to present my findings through the lens of a traditional fashion magazine to emphasise the elements i personally found to be missing, or invisible from most popular forms of media at the time.
