creative production and set styling by me, backdrop hand drawn by me. it’s the final scene of midsommar. to create the backdrop, i drew inspiration primarily from mu pan’s work for midsommar and set illustrator ragnar persson, as well as traditional nordic art styles and symbolic elements from the film itself. i added a subtle layer of hand drawn wood paneling to give the backdrop, illustrated digitally and printed on muslin, more of a mural-like quality. i worked with felisa to imagine a floral cage to stand in for dani’s final dress with additional geometric floral pieces to pad out the rest of the scene, plus a selection of floral crowns for guests to don while posing.
