creative production and concept design by me. graphic design by me. i originally conceptualized this design for a 4th of july screening event for pee-wee’s big adventure in 2023; i wanted to create the illusion of flying through the air on pee-wee’s bike in a larger-than-life adventure. we sourced a bike secondhand and added the lion siren, front wheel swirl, and rear toolbox. to really give the effect of soaring, the bike was angled on a ramp painted to match the backdrop – painted with bright fireworks illuminating the 4th of july skies. this experience became the most successful photobooth ever, so of course i had to bring the idea back for our paul reubens tribute screening. this time, i opted for a dreamy blue sky as an homage to the iconic photo. i also designed a secondary photo moment, custom cupcakes, and a collage-style postcard with hand drawn details as additional mementos.
