the royal tenenbaums: all about margot
photobooth concept and creative direction by me. storytelling through triptych. i wanted this set to feel voyeuristic, as if you were peeking into the lives of each child. they’re vignettes of each tenenbaum child’s essence, juxtaposed to portray the inner eccentricities of the perfectly (dys)functional family. margot’s room uses a bold zebra print wallpaper with books and a typewriter, richie has a hand-painted wallpaper lined with shelves of tennis trophies, and chas is 70s office core, complete with boxy, desktop computer, rotary phone, and coffee maker. costumes and wig sourced and styled by me. reinventing young margot tenenbaum, now that she’s all grown up. margot’s look is iconic – a striped polo dress, oversized fur coat, sensible loafers and baby pink gloves (complete with missing finger). to complete it, i cut and colored a light blonde wig and fashioned a red barrette.
